Trias: Aiming at the General Trust Problems to Build the Foundation of Trusted Computing

On December 8, 2018, Octa&Trias CEO Dr. Ruan Anbang was invited to attend the China Trusted Cloud Community Summit held in Shenzhen and deliver a speech on ‘Computing Infrastructure of General Enterprise Smart Contract’.

When it comes to blockchain, Bitcoin cannot be ignored. Many people first came into contact with blockchain from Bitcoin. In the early days of Bitcoin, few people noticed it and many people thought it was a hoax. That’s why someone bought two pizzas with 10,000 bitcoins.

But as the days went by, Bitcoin didn’t collapse because of a lack of central infrastructure. Instead, it continued to operate steadily. This makes people realize that the underlying technical ideas of Bitcoin can be abstracted and applied to other ideas, so blockchain technology emerging at the right moment.

Since its birth, blockchain technology has been entrusted with the mission of solving trust problems in the internet world. After long-term development, blockchain provides numerous decentralized solutions to build trust, such as mobile devices, public cloud, edge computing, data center, smart city and so on. However, until now, we can still think that the current blockchain is only for a small part of trust problems, and there are many application scenarios with a high degree of natural compatibility with blockchain.

In fact, the development process of blockchain in not smooth. After the rapid growth of blockchain, we found that there are three key challenges in the implementation of blockchain technology.

Application execution: How to ensure that the software is loaded and executed correctly?

Software development: How to ensure that your software is developed and deployed correctly?

Service management: How to ensure that the software is properly configured and managed?

To solve these problems, we need to rely on the idea of separation of powers in cyberspace. Trias, Dr. Ruan said, is made up of three components: Leviatom, which is responsible for execution; Prometh for development; MagCarta, which is in charge of management. Through decentralization and restriction, the combination of any two of the three powers can limit the excessive expansion of the third party.

According to Dr. Ruan, the three parts of Trias have two layers each. They are MagCarta Contract Layer, MagCarta Application Layer, Prometh Construction Layer, Prometh Service Layer, Leviatom Consensus Layer, Leviatom Ledger Layer. They perform their respective functions and play an equally irreplaceable role in the system.

Leviatom Consensus Layer, for example, through TEE environment support, it plays a role in protecting the security of the consensus nodes against malicious programs by ensuring that the malicious programs running on consensus nodes are zero. At the same time, TEE election model is used to form super nodes to ensure fairer, safer and more efficient operation of the system. Its TPS can reach more than 100,000, and it has 99% anti-fault tolerant redundancy rate.

MagCarta Application Layer mainly ensure the smooth docking of Trias and specific application scenarios. Trias has strong adaptability in commodity traceability, digital copyright confirmation, anti-counterfeiting engineering and medical data. At present, Trias has reached strategic cooperation with many authoritative agencies. including cooperation with ASEAN Marine Economy Research Institute of Fujian province, participating in Fujian provincial government ‘the Belt and the Road’ traceability system, industrial chain technology research and other major projects; Together with Fujian information technology & industrialization association and Fujian Zhenbang group, we are committed to intelligent manufacturing in 2025. Jointly build digital Fujian SaaS basic platform with Fujian Hai Si Le Yun to promote the development of thousands of chain enterprises. Jointly lead the development of ‘trusted operation and maintenance systems for financial information systems based on AI’with Soochow securities information technology headquarters, which is one of the only two designated demonstration projects of blockchain at the technical conference of Shenzhen Stock Exchange, and attracted the attention of experts from many institutions around the world.

At present, blockchain market is still in a relatively early stage. Since 2018, with the popularity of blockchain, bitcoin and other concepts, blockchain-based applications will gradually spread out and involve various fields of government, business and civil affairs, and the future of blockchain industry shows many promising signs

From a macro perspective, many cities including Xiongan New Area, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Guiyang, Qingdao, Hainan, Chongqing, Chengdu and Beijing are increasingly competing for the title of “blockchain city”. At present, nearly 30 universities around the world have established blockchain-related courses, including 10 universities from China, including the central university of finance and economics, Tsinghua university, Shanghai Jiao Tong university, Zhejiang university, etc. In addition, Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu and other giants have entered the market and made great progress in the fields of charity, traceability, finance and AI.
