Ruan Anbang: Blockchain Driven Intelligent Medical Ecosystem Going Forward
Ruan Anbang, the CEO of Trias, in the time of attending FLEX Future Life Expo 2018 in Hangzhou, he shares the unique insights in medical, and deeply analysis how blockchain driven intelligent medical ecosystem, express the original view how ‘Trusted Computing’ play a role in modern medicine, expand understanding of Trias technology helping us to more skillfully heal the sick.

In 2007, when I was a graduate student at Peking University, it is the first time to contact with an emerging technology called ‘Trusted Computing’. At that time, I certainly assure that this technology is everyone-needed. I have been working for the last 11 years, and it makes me feel very excited and lucky. As everything continuously changing, I still keep the original mind and do what I want to do. At present, we have two main bodies. Octa Innovation Company focus on blockchain research in China, and the Trias aims to public chain development beyond the sea. What is more, we develop extensive jointly cooperation with Peking Univerisity, Tsinghua University, University of Oxford and other famous parties in R&D projects. All those shows that many colleges and universities are very supportive of the blockchain research.
As we all know, big medical data is extremely difficult to achieve. In the final analysis, actually, it is trustworthy that we have been exploring and thinking about.
Medical Data Problems:
1) Personal Medical Data
For now, medical records are in hospitals, and have nothing to do with the patients themselves. Patients fail to know their medical records and difficulty tracing back as merely knowing and controlling their own medical data.
2) Medical Data Security Seriously
With the rapid growth of medical data and centralized storage mode, data security is increasingly seriously. Over the years, reports about patient’s information leakage can be heard without end.
3) Data Island Hinders Medical R&D.
Data islands hinder medical and health data efficiently sharing, going against improving the diagnostic rate of hospitals. As a result, it is invisibly increasing the medical cost.
4) The Contradiction Between Demand and Management.
There is a serious contradiction between personal health management needs sudden explosion and the health data effective management.
In our daily lives, we always judge, ‘Can I trust you? Why should you trust a stranger when you meet him?’ There are generally three ways:
First, all his information is open, making everyone available and reaching a consensus. In fact, it is the most basic mechanism of blockchain. If you put everyone’s information into ledger, at least half of people’s data needs to change. But at the same time, it would require more ledgers to record, but the speed would be slow.
Second, we can directly install a lie detector to avoid lying. We need to load the chip at any node in the blockchain that can quickly judge whether it’s true or not. What’s more interesting, the chip was not created by us alone, and ‘trusted computing’ always been an international standard. This requires only a few people to verify chip ongoing work, and the speed will be fast.
Third, we can find an intermediary you believe. It is means that you have been finding someone you already trust. If you trust the machine, you can trust it.
Great efforts we have been made to ensure the blockchain fast and secure. When achieved these two goals, we’ll be able to come out with a smart contract, which resembles the Internet empowering all applications run safely and at a high speed. This is the answer I found how to integrate medical data.
