TL;DR

As a decentralized organization, DAO will become a common cooperation mode for various applications in future metaverse with the application of blockchain technology and the development of the metaverse. This article describes how the functional module of DAO designed by Ethanim has changed the way metaverse applications work.

DAO is a new organizational relationship based on blockchain and smart contracts. As an autonomous organization without intervention, it is formed through smart contracts and a series of disclosed and fair rules. This decentralized form can avoid mistakes in decision-making and implementation caused by roles with too much power to the most extent.

In DAO, there is no longer any so-called leadership role such as CEO or COO in traditional companies. Everyone in the organization has the right to propose and vote, and can become a participant in the project by purchasing the governance token or NFT of the project. They can participate in all aspects of the governance and benefit from it.

Since Ethanim is a metaverse infrastructure of Web3 and Dao plays an indispensable role in it, the DAO module has been added to Ethanim at the early stage of product design in order to support the metaverse application in the whole lifecycle of decentralized governance from development to operation. Users will have the same rights as developers through the DAO module of Ethanim. They can not only create a copy of the application independently and have access to application modification, but also participate deeply in the application operation in the form of Dao.

Customizable application platform

As a completely decentralized platform, the application in Ethanim is open, with all permissions on apps belonging to both developers and users. Ethanim apps are open, and all permissions on apps belong not only to developers, but also to all users. When users have their own unique ideas about the development of an app, they can create a copy of the app through Ethanim’s trusted state machine RSM (links attached) and maintain the copy to customize the app in their favorite way. In addition, Ethanim allows users to share their copy of the app and profit from it.

For other users, Ethanim offers a new metaverse experience where they can access a variety of customized apps in the market and choose the version of the app they want to join.

For the initial developers of the application, they can choose to join the new customized version and operate and maintain it with the community in the form of DAOs. They can also choose to maintain the original version, and still have a profit share from new copies of the app.

Community of decentralized governance

In addition to adding customized applications, another main function of the DAO module in Ethanim is community governance. In a typical Web2 game, all applications and related decisions are limited to the team member and the users are rarely involved.

Ethanim can improve this situation because of its complete decentralization. All data is saved in a transparent box of RSM, which means everyone can check the running state of any RSM through the blockchain browser. The decisions of the applications can be encoded in smart contracts and voted by users to decide whether to execute.

App developers can provide their users with governance tokens, which can be used for voting. It allows holders to propose and vote on updates to the app and its ecosystem and provides users with corresponding incentives. The entire governance process is also carried out on blockchain, making it very easy to verify the results of governance. Ethanim simplifies the governance process and encourages the participation of community users by providing a simple and transparent governance method.
